There has been an ongoing consultation process regarding the redesign of the intersection of the Kingsway and the Queensway. The techincally preferred option, 'The Link Road' has now been selected and an open house is being held on Wednesday June 6, 2007 to present that to the public and hear comments.

Some of the original options originally presented included bike lanes along the Queensway. The documents on the website don't specifically mention bike lanes in the project description but it does say "The link road would provide a more friendly environment for pedestrians, cyclists and transit users." The option removes some of the onramps at this intersection which will make it easier for cyclists to ride through this area. This meeting would be a good opportunity to review the plans and see what improvements for cyclists there are and what improvements to the designs can be made to make the project truly cyclist friendly.

Details of the meeting are below:
Date: Wednesday June 6, 2007
Time: Open House (6:30pm to 9:30pm)
Presentation at 7:30pm
Location: Swansea Community Recreation Centre (Gymnasium) 15 Waller Avenue
